I Tried Facial Gua Sha For 30 Days: Here’s What Happened
Gua Sha is a millennia-old therapeutic method of moving lymphatic fluid beneath the skin to release toxins, stimulate bloodflow, and melt away tension. It is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and it has become mega, mega popular over the last few decades.
Earlier this year, I decided to put my Gua Sha tool to the test to see whether I’d notice a change with 30 days of consistent, daily use. For the entire month, the only product I used on my face was Living Libations Rose Glow Serum (absolute FAVOURITE skincare item on the planet!) and my Gua Sha stone. I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, but by day 14 there was a VERY clear new glow hanging around! The results were actually quite something! Here’s a peek at my progression from day 1-30:
As with any new skincare regime, there was a small readjustment period where I had a few breakouts, but the end results speaks for itself I saw a significant improvement in both the clarity and firmness of my skin, and I actually started looking forward to this part of my routine because it just felt SO GOOD! (TIP: Store your Gua Sha in the fridge. It feels like HEAVEN if you use it when the stone is cold! )
BTW, I certainly don’t just credit the Gua Sha to the changes I saw. Using this deliciously smooth Rose Glow Serum by Living Libations made all the difference! Since then, I’ve repeated this 30-day experience while rotating through 2 other natural skincare products that I love: Noaic Balm’s Tallow Moisturizer (Yes, Tallow! Try it with code WELLANDFREE to save 10%. My favourite scent is WOODS ), and the Rejuvenate Me serum by Earthley Wellness. As someone with acne-prone skin, these are the products I have found to have the most squeaky-clean ingredients, while delivering the best results!
Have you ever incorporated Gua Sha into your skincare routine? Did you notice any changes with consistent use?
